Frozen in Time

The Three Patriarchs, Isaiah, Abraham and Jacob.

Is it too late to change my major back?? I could always work as a park ranger and do OT per diem for home care?? I would probably make more in 3 hrs a week as an OT than I would in a day as a park ranger!!!

The rocks at Zion were all once a desert with large Sand dunes. If you look closely at the rocks you can see the cross sections where the wind blew the sand in different directions.

I really enjoyed the hiking at Zion. Here are a few pictures from my drive to the hike, my hike and my drive back out of the park.

The drive into Zion Canyon to the Lodge and the hiking.

A hike to the lower middle and upper pools of this waterfall was gorgeous!! Not much water but you got to walk under it...in 60 degree weather I am glad there wasn't much water!!

Water fall into the lower pool

This was the canyon where the upper pool was located. I wasn't sure how to portray the depth of the canyon...here are a few shots.

This was taken looking straight up!!

The water weeps from the rocks into the pool below. My guess is that during the rainy seasons there is a bit more of a water fall out of the rocks.

The upper pool had some awesome reflections in it!!

I spent the morning hiking in Zion and then drove on to Bryce. This was my shortest drive yet!! only 1 and a half hours of driving today....not one place to stop for lunch the whole way!! Luckily someone was very smart and just recently opened up a Subway right at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park!! Yeah, Lunch!!

So here is the Zion web site.
