New Orleans style breakfast, bike ride through a field of prairie dogs, drive on the highest paved road in the country, Lots of Elk and a thunderstorm in the mountains followed by the BEST part of the day in Boulder for some Homemade ice cream!!
http://www.glacierhomemadeicecream.com/My first road trip in my Escape.... all in a days work....followed by music and dinner with friends in Colorado Springs in the evening.. I still think the name of my car should be Explorer, but the gas mileage was better in the Escape! : )
Me?? Need to slow down?? Whatever do you mean?
If you click on any of the pictures you can enlarge them.

Umm...where does the road go???

The Lava cliffs....still plenty of snow.. Where is my sled when I need it??

I absolutely love the views from this car!!!

I did get out and walk a few times. Plenty of people around!

The sign says 12,210 feet!! Ok so its on the restroom.. The highest restroom in the country?

My car up at 12000 feet!!

I decided it was time to get moving..

Snowmelt

And lots of it!!

Storm still ominously close as I descend from the mountains.

The Elk don't seem to care about the humans in the neighborhood!

One last little hike as I leave the park. No thunderstorm down here!

Elk in the town of Estes Park....and we thought deer were a problem!!

Do you think he turned right after?

Ok, never mind the Elk in the lawn... Does this sign say Museum and Senior Center??

Back in the Springs by 7pm to listen to some Bluegrass with Terry and Wendy.

Hillside Garden Center in Colorado Springs hosts live music every Wed night during the summer.
