Dog Sledding in Steamboat Springs!

So weeks ago I asked Debb what she wanted to do in CO while she was here.. SNOW I want snow!!

So I finally talked to her earlier in the week to get details. I knew she wanted to downhill ski... then she was looking at the website for Steamboat Springs and said Dog Sledding!! Lets do that!! Sure Debb..pick the most expensive winter sport possible...no problem! Sure enough we looked it up and found out that it wasn't as much as we thought...about the same as a day of skiing!!

Debb and I waiting while they set the dogs up. We had 2 groups of 4 sleds. Lots of people all at once!! We each got to drive. There was a quick instructional section in the beginning and off we went! There was a snowmobile up ahead of us and one in the back the whole time in case anyone needed assistance... It was really easy driving...pretty much stand there and let the dogs go and step on the brake going down hill!!!

The Dogs were very excited to get running!!

And off we go!!

Debbs driving!!

We stopped numerous times to let the dogs rest and get a chance to take some pictures.

Then we switched drivers and Debb never told me that she was taking pictures!!!

What a Gorgeous way to explore Steamboat Springs!!

12.5 miles later about 3 hrs later we pull back in to home base...

The dogs are sooo cute!!

The dogs were tired after the run but recovered within about 10 minutes. The organizer said they can be out running again in an hour!! Boy do they have energy.. I will see if I can post some video..the dogs were going crazy before we took off!!

Debb and I thanking the dogs. The black dog is boot and the dog with me is Hans! (I kept wanting to call another one Franz!!)

Thanks also to Time, Love, Bambi, Holland, Ram and Madison!!

I think that first shot with the sun in it is my favorite of the whole week. The only thing that could make it better is if the sled was a little closer so you can really see it.
