Big Trees!

I finally made it down to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. There was a bit of snow so a good deal of the parks were closed but it was still an amazing day!

I drove down from Merced to Fresno and drove east into the Sierras. I drove past my first orange groves in CA and then some other fruit trees I have yet to identify.

Some others were even out for a sunny drive!

A little snow at the visitor center.

The trees aren't that big ... just the size of the minivan in the parking lot!!!

Tiny. I can hold one in my hand!!

Not too much snow

Well it was buried but it seemed an odd sign...

See the log buried in snow laying at the base of the tree? noticed the size of the people on the left and the height of the "log".

Here I am walking through that log!

still INSIDE the fallen tree!

After walking through the tree behind me. Those are the roots of the fallen tree!

That was the one I walked through on the left.

I had never seen tracks like this in the snow..

Whatever could it be?

Ah I see!

Someone was nice enough to carve out room to see from the vista points and keep the signs clear!

Driving t0wards Kings Canyon

The drive back out of the Sierras that day was amazing!!!
