Toto, I am not in Kansas anymore!!

I might as well be!! Brush is in the plains of Colorado...yup look at a map. Everything east of the mountains is extremely flat and dry. Then there is Kansas! I have been listening to Agricultural reports on the local country station...which btw the music disappears when the local HS basketball or football teams are playing...just sports!!

I am pretty sure that this is Brush that I flew over as I landed in Denver after Thanksgiving! I am NOT kidding!!

So the soy future report is on at 5pm. The barndoor report is on at 6:15 pm and the agricultural minute update is on at 7am!! all on the local country music radio station!

This artist has done cartoons on windows in alot of the local towns...well the three that I am in within 60 miles of Brush...Those are the only 3 towns within 60 miles of Brush!!

There are just over 5000 people in Brush... How many people are in the New Trump tower in White plains?

Apparently Brush has a history.. pioneers!!

The local HS mascots are the beet diggers!! Yup!! Can't use Indians as a mascot but no problem with the Beet diggers screaming and yelling!! (My college, Juniata is an Indian tribe name in PA and when I was there it went PC and changed the mascot to eagles..well blue and gold until they voted on a new one... got rid of the Totem Inn and called it Muddy run..cause people want to eat at a place called muddy run! ) In any case..not all of us were happy with the changes...the Yearbook remained the Alferata also an Indian name...

Back to Brush..hmm...some similarities with my college town now that I think of it.. Huntingdon PA was only 1000 people larger. (That is without including when college was in session or the inmates at the local prison)

Brush has a movie theater on main street that plays one movie at 730 pm and a free movie Saturday Afternoons for kids.

Main Street

I asked at my hotel if there were some good local places to eat and she pointed back towards the highway and said there is a McDonalds, Wendys and Pizza Hut!! Thanks... I have found a local dinner or two as well. I have some amusing stories from that already. : ) Small town! Apparently the minister owns half the block near the church, including the coffee house and diner..they bought out the pub and are turning it into a game room for the kids.

At least they Warn you!! Right before you see this next sign!!!

BRUSH!

In Colorado they post the elevation no the population...in some towns the elevation is higher!!

This is the road from the highway to the main street in town. The grain silos parallel the main street!!

This was the hotel parking lot two days after we received about 2 inches of snow!! It stayed below 30 so it never melted.. They don't believe in plowing snow out there!!

A few of the locals flew by on my way into Denver one day!! There are alot of local birds!!

The Apartments on Carlas street

Home Sweet Home....for now... I am renting the HOUSE in the back. This is my driveway and I actually have that shed and the garage (that you can't see between the houses) LOVING it! My car doesn't know what to do in a warm garage!

My neighborhood in Brush
Actually my driveway is the second on the left.

I have to admit that I have seen some AMAZING sunrises and sunsets...now to take some photos!!
